William James Gregory Jr. (1955-2021)

William James Gregory Jr., was born in Forrest City on June 6, 1955, to the union of William Gregory Sr. and Pearlie Gregory.

The family resided in Forrest City where he received his education from the Forrest City School District and was a graduate of Forrest City High School Class of 1974. While living in Forrest City, he was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. James Toney. He was a member of St. Luke Community United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gregory Sr. and Pearlie Gregory; his daughter, Natalya; his motherin-law, Ruby Pearl Winfrey and father-in-law, Jessie Lee Winfrey.

William departed this life to live eternally with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.

William leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Winfrey Gregory; his four children, William Gregory III of Dallas, Tameka Gregory of Richardson, Texas, Darrell Jackson (Ashley) of Forrest City and Shameka Gregory of Sachse, Texas; five sisters, Pearlie Key (Michael), Diann Taylor (Billy) and Brenda Robinson (Charles), all of Jonesboro, Charlene Covington of Jacksonvil­le and Patricia L. Gregory of Madison; two brothers, Alvin Gregory (Helen) of Forrest City and Aaron Gregory (Roberta) of Jonesboro; 12 grandchild­ren, seven greatgrand­children, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Miles Mortuary in Forrest City.

The funeral service for William James Gregory Jr., 66, of Dallas, formerly of Forrest City, will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at noon at Riverside M.B. Church with Minister Adrian Winfrey delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Paradise Garden Cemetery, under the direction of Miles Mortuary.
