- Katie West T-H Staff Writer

The dates have been set for this year’s Christmas at the William Stone House in Colt.

The historic home, maintained by the Colt Community Development Corporation, will be open on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Nov. 20, Nov. 27, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11.

"We will be open more this season due to Covid-19 in an effort to spread out the number of attendees," said Stone House volunteer Walter Meals. "We will also be open by appointment anytime between Nov. 20 and Dec. 11.

"Our children's shopping room will be available and we will wrap each gift or any gift from the Christmas House," said Meals. "Mrs. Santa's Kitchen will feature baked goods, preserves and jellies made locally. There will also be handcrafted and other items throughout the William Stone House."

Meals said Santa will make his annual stop at the Stone House on Saturday, Dec. 11, where he will visit with children from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

"There is no fee to see Santa, so bring your camera and take all the pictures you would like," said Meals.

Meals said that due to Covid, organizers are taking precautions.

"Due to Covid-19, we may have to limit the number of people inside the building at a given time,” said Meals. "We respectfully request that people wear a mask when they come, and we encourage people to visit our hand-sanitizing stations located at each door. This is for everyone's protection, both visitors and volunteers."

Meals and other members of the organization thank the community for its continued support and invite everyone to stop by and enjoy the Christmas displays and decorations throughout the season.

"They are fantastic," said Meals.
