East Arkansas Community College will present Little Texas, one of the hottest country music groups from the early 1990s, on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the EACC Fine Arts Center. Tickets are on sale.

Since their first single release in 1991, Little Texas has been bringing their classic rock influenced brand of country to the world. Known for hit songs like "Some Guys Have All the Love," "God Blessed Texas," "You and Forever and Me," "What Might Have Been," "My Love," "Kick a Little," "First Time for Everything," "Amy's Back in Austin," and several more, they have sold over 7 million albums.

Little Texas has been recognized with 3 GRAMMY® nominations and received award honors from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. The group also received a CMT award, a Billboard Music award, and other radio and records awards.

As part of the young country movement of the early '90s, Little Texas was responsible for shaking up the country music world with a new, energetic sound that fused the look and attitude of modern rock music with traditional country themes and styles, bringing a much appreciated bolt of life into the genre.

Early in their career, Little Texas was designated as an arena act. They first signed on as an opener on an arena tour headlined by Clint Black, and they later toured with Travis Tritt and Trisha Yearwood. Then, they were on their own performing for packed arenas across the United States and Canada. During this time, the band played a part in Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles, which later earned their first Country Music Association award for “Album of the Year.”

In 2004, the multi-platinum band’s four original members— Duane Propes (bassist-vocalist), Porter Howell (lead vocals and lead guitar), Dwayne O'Brien (vocals and rhythm guitars) and Del Gray (drums) rebuilt the franchise with a completely new sound, bringing back their performances to fans.

The band is still on the concert circuit celebrating 30 years on the radio since their first single, "Some Guys Have All The Love," hit the airwaves in 1991. The music they have generated over the years is timeless, and has been featured on hundreds of television programs and sporting events including Good Morning America, American Idol, America's Got Talent, and HBO's True Blood. "God Blessed Texas" has been the theme music for the Texas Ford Dealers commercials since 1998.
