Kenyatae Jermond Chism Sr. (1985-2021)

Kenyatae Jermond Chism Sr., affectiona­tely known as “Tae,” was born on June 1, 1985 to Pamela Chism McFadden and Francis Jerome Leak. He departed his life on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, at Forrest City Medical Center.

“Tae” enjoyed attending church at the United Christian Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Anthony D. Latham.

“Tae” was a proud member of the graduating class of 2004 at Forrest City High School. He had the opportunit­y to play football with the Mustangs, where he dominated every position on the field. After finishing high school, “Tae” went into the workforce. He worked for Boar’s Head, APAC Constructi­on and APEX of Jonesboro.

“Tae” was always the life of any party, from his standup attitude, his contagious laughter and stylish threads. He had a smile so big that it would light up any room. “Tae” was always a ladies’ man. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. His favorite hobbies were taking pictures, playing with his children, nieces and nephews, and watching his favorite NFL football team, the Dallas Cowboys, on television.

“Tae” was preceded in death by his grandmothe­r, Lorene Henderson Chism, and grandfathe­rs, Frederick Leak Sr. and Dan Ervin, Sr.

“Tae” leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Pamela Chism McFadden (Ronald) of Forrest City and Francis Gerome Leak (Frieda) of McDonough, Ga., as well as another father figure, John Jones Sr. of Forrest City; grandparen­ts, Clyde Chism (Brenda) of Forrest City and Mary Leak and Roberta McFadden, both of Caldwell; two sons, Kenyatae Jermond Chism Jr. of Forrest City and Ethan Dixon of Jacksonvil­le; three daughters, Kentashia Chism and Kajavia Chism, both of Forrest City, and O’Riyah Chism of Jonesboro; six brothers, Johnnie Jones of Little Rock, John Jones Jr., of Forrest City, Marquis Leak (Adriennne) of Powder

Springs, Ga., Tochi Leak of Atlanta, and Ronald Scott and Randell Scott, both of Jonesboro; five sisters, Ikeshia Chism of Manama, Bahrain (Middle East), Diamond McFadden of Forrest City, Rhonda Scott of Mobile, Ala., Felicia Scott of Jonesboro and Tyeshia McKinney of Little Rock; two nieces, Ja’Niya Jones and Oakleigh Haley, both of Forrest City; seven nephews, Dakwon Scott, Preston Barton, Paris Barton, John Jones III, Torey Dunn Jr., Jacario Jones and Johan Jones, all of Forrest City; seven uncles, Clyde Chism Jr., Dewayne Chism, Brian Chism and Christophe­r Chism, all of Forrest City, James Leak of Blackfish, Rosha Leak of Caldwell and Dan Ervin Jr. of Jonesboro; seven aunts, Sharon Hines, Kehila Gardner (Gary) and Yolanda Morgan (Tony), all of Forrest City, Cynthia Rogers and Carolyn Leak, both of Caldwell, Shonta Butts (Johnny) of Brunswick, Ga., and Tammy Ervin of Jonesboro; a special cousin whom he loved as his own sister, Kemeshia Chism of Forrest City, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Kenyatae Chism, 36, of Forrest City was held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at noon at the Larry S. Bryant Multipurpo­se Center with Pastor Austin D. Hill delivering the eulogy. Burial followed at the Stanley Grove Cemetery in Colt, under the direction of Miles Mortuary in Forrest City.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Miles Mortuary in Forrest City.
