-

East Arkansas Community College will present Atlanta Rhythm Section and Pure Prairie League 50 Years Together on Saturday, April 23, at 7:30 p.m., in the EACC Fine Arts Center.

Tickets go on sale Monday, March 14, at 10 a.m.

For more than 50 years, members of Atlanta Rhythm Section have entertained audiences all over the world with their hits. From their start as the house band at the famed Studio One, to playing for tens of thousands of fans at festivals and arenas, Atlanta Rhythm Section earned their place as one of the top acts in country rock.

With multiple gold and platinum albums to their credit, the band's top hits include "So Into You," "Imaginary Lover," "Champagne Jam," "Doraville," "I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight," "Do It Or Die," "Spooky," and more.

Along with contemporaries Lynyrd Skynyrd, they carry the mantle of "Southern Rock," but by performing more musically diverse hits with a softer, pop flavor, they have a sound all their own.

Best known for their iconic No. 1 hit "Amie," Top 10 hits "Two Lane Highway," "Let Me Love You Tonight," "I'll Fix Your Flat Tire Merle," and "Early Mornin' Riser," along with their classic Norman Rockwell inspired cowboy album covers, Pure Prairie League bridged the gap between country and rock.

From their beginnings in the mid-sixties Ohio as a group of friends playing cover tunes to the present-day featuring founding member/pedal-steel innovator John David Call, veteran bassist Mike Reilly, propulsive drummer Scott Thompson and guitar ace Donnie Clark, Pure Prairie League continues to embellish the rich 50 year history of one of country-rock's pioneering forces.

Now in their fifth decade, Pure Prairie League continues to lead the way for the new generation.

Tickets for Atlanta Rhythm Section and Pure Prairie League’s performance are $44.

Tickets will be available online at www.eacc.edu, by calling 870-633-4480, ext. 352, or in person at the Fine Arts Center Ticket Office.
