Rural Health Partnership schedules drive-through shot clinics at local library
The Forrest City Public Library is partnering with the Arkansas Rural Health Partnership to host a pair of Covid-19 drive-through shot clinics.
The clinics are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and Monday, July 25, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Vaccinations will be available for first and second doses of the vaccine as well as booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine, according to Arlisa Harris, library director.
Harris said that according to the Arkansas Rural Health Partnership, Pfizer vaccines are for ages five and over.
Vaccinations will also be free of charge.
"They will bring their mobile unit that anyone can drive up to," said Harris.
Harris also said the organization had told the library that anyone whose first two doses of the vaccine were Moderna may also get the Pfizer vaccine as a booster.
“We are happy to partner with Arkansas Rural Health Partnership to offer drivethrough Covid-19 vaccination clinics in the parking lot of our library,” said Harris.
Harris said the ARHP is a non-profit organization of 15 hospitals and two federally-qualified health centers throughout the southern region of Arkansas.
Those seeking the vaccines will not need to provide a Social Security number, proof of citizenship or legal status, or insurance. Participants will also be eligible to complete a short survey after receiving a Covid19 vaccine to earn a $20 gift card.
"Please join us if you need to be vaccinated or have your boosters updated," said Harris.
Those who need transportation assistance are encouraged to call 211.
