Several events for Independen­ce Day scheduled to take place on Saturday

The City of Forrest City and other areas will be celebratin­g the July 4th with lots of fun activities and entertainm­ent for the whole family.

The Community Jazz Festival will be held Saturday, July 2 from 3pm till 7: 30 pm in downtown Forrest City.

The event is free and features lots of great live music featuring Jubilation Jazz behind the St. Francis County Museum. There will also be food trucks, children's games, community booths, bingo, a pickleball tournament, a magician for the kids and more.

The City of Palestine will hold its annual Independen­ce Day celebratio­n on Saturday afternoon July 2 starting at 2pm. There will be food, live music, and bounce houses for the kids in downtown Palestine. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy visiting with friends and neighbors, while you enjoy the festivitie­s.

A Veterans Salute begins at 5pm followed by more live music and fun. A fantastic fireworks show will begin at dark at the Palestine- Wheatley High School field.

Rusty Nails Cowboy Church will host a block party, July 2 from 4pm till 9pm. Everything will be FREE. Hot dogs, water, and snow cones will be served. Bring your own lawn chairs and enjoy the afternoon.

Also, The Delta Cultural Center announces their 4th of July Celebratio­n scheduled for Monday, July 4. It will take place from 9am till 12pm at the Cherry Street Pavilion in Helena. There will be a combinatio­n of history and music.

The Pavilion is located at 116 Cherry Street, in Helena, directly across from the DCC Visitor's Center and Depot Museum.
