Beth Beavers Prescott (1961-2022)
Beth Beavers Prescott, beloved wife of Harold (Hal) Prescott, died on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, following a brief battle with cancer. Her husband was at her side.
Beth was born on Aug. 3, 1961, in Little Rock to Bob and Virginia Beavers. Her family moved to Forrest City in 1963. Beth graduated from Forrest City High School where she was active in cheerleading, Beta Club, Delta Beta Sigma and the United Methodist Youth. She graduated from Hendrix College with a bachelor’s degree in history and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law and passed the Bar in both Arkansas and Tennessee.
In Memphis, Beth practiced law then found her true calling for marketing and administration when she joined BSLM Architects as marketing director. She later spent 20 years working for the United States Postal Service as a contractor overseeing the budget and administration of a division of postal headquarters. After moving to Fayetteville, Beth wanted to better serve the university she loved and joined the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture as a procurement coordinator.
Beth was a member of Red Hill (descendants of Patrick Henry), a life member of the Arkansas Alumni Association, a member of the University of Arkansas Women’s Giving Circle and President of Chapter BU of P.E.O.
Beth attended her first Razorback football game at six months old and was a tried and true fan through the remainder of her life. She was an avid reader, passionate lover of history, and was a strong believer that education was the thing that could change the world. Beth loved traveling but hated flying; however, she would do pretty much anything to get to a Jimmy Buffet concert, attending well over 40 during her life. put others before herself. She loved spending time with friends and being active in her community but was happiest spending time at home with her husband and fur babies.
Beth is predeceased by her parents, Bob and Virginia Beavers, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Beavers and Mrs. Arval Grubbs.
She is survived by her husband, Harold; one brother, Brad Beavers (Rush) of Forrest City; one niece, Rebekah Williams (David) and their son Mason of Fayetteville, and one nephew, Master Sergeant B. J. Beavers (Leslie) and their children Cayden Davis, Trey Beavers and Mallory Beavers of Fort Hood, Texas. She additionally leaves her familyin-law, Benny and Ellen Bell of Vilonia, Heidi and Philip Love of Benton and Wayne Bell of Fayetteville as well as scores of beloved friends, cousins and neighbors.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m., with the funeral following at the Forrest City United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
