Soooo quiet on the islands. Several restaurants closed for a week or a month. I like it!
Saturday
Perfect time of year to check out the movie selection in the library. Popped into Captiva and found a few I hadn’t ever seen.
Sunday
CBS Sunday morning ended with a beautiful shot from SW Florida. My money says one of the editors likes to come here.

I miss Francis and Sam Bailey.

Took a tennis lesson from T. He made me laugh and made me better.

Oct. 15 can’t get here soon enough— ready for stone crab season!

Unusual early morning sail ( instead of sunset) with S. Took croissants and figs with us. Lovely way to start the day!

Even Nemo thinks it’s hot out. He is chillaxing in the a/ c today. Looked at me like I was crazy when I left for tennis.

Got invited to Rosemary Beach for a week. Totally curious— never been there.

Cool front fake- out is surely imminent. Happens every year. Bring it on already!

Z& A circled over the house this morning and tipped their wings to say hi. Can’t believe in 25 years, I’ve never landed on North Cap by plane.

Met JB for lunch at the Flash. Got treated to a whopper of a story by MM. He is a bonafide island character.

Hearing rumors about a panther in the ‘ hood. On high alert to see my first!

Had a dream I rode my bike to the island store in PJs at night, never saw another soul. 1989 all over again.

First cool weekend of the fall! Coconut shrimp at Gramma Dots with M& S to celebrate.

Thinking an outdoor movie night would be fun. Does this exist?

Popped into MacIntosh for some Christmas presents. Autographed books are always a winner.

Every day is TGIF on Sanibel and Captiva. Still excited the weekend is here, though: heading to Miami to tour the latest and the greatest.

N and I met a celeb shoe designer, had rooftop cocktails, ate dinner at 10, and danced ‘ til 3. When in Rome!
