Barbara Fletcher

Barbara Bonds Hogan Fletcher, born on January 10, 1938, peacefully departed to be with the Lord on February 23, 2024, in Lamar, AR. She was the daughter of George and Shirley Bonds of Muldrow, OK. Barbara was united in marriage to Raymond Hogan on November 11, 1955, until his passing in 1992, and later to Bob Fletcher of Muldrow from August 8, 1994, until his death in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and husbands. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by her siblings: Mike Bonds of Liberty, Jimmy (Jamie) Bonds of Vian, and Judy Bonds of Roland. She is also survived by her daughters, Kimberly Hogan Nichols of Ozark and Kelly Hogan Chronister (Evan) of Lamar; grandchild­ren Kari Barham, Michael (Kristin) Barham, Chandler Nichols of Ozark, Savanna (Roger) Gattis of Lenexa, KS, Gabby Chronister, EJ (Alex) Chronister of Bentonvill­e, AR; great-grandchild­ren Annadale Barham, Aubrey and Tucker Barham, Jerrica and JJ White of Ozark, Maizie and Emery Gattis of Lenexa, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special niece Marilyn Lewis and great friends Catherine Jones and Shana Marr.

Barbara’s journey through life was marked by vibrant energy and cherished connection­s. She attended Roland High School, where she participat­ed in various activities, including founding the inaugural cheerleadi­ng squad in 1953, and starring in numerous plays and musicals. Her voice graced both her school choir and a local quartet. Barbara’s sparkling personalit­y and keen sense of fashion were hallmarks of her life.

For 27 years, Barbara was a beloved fixture at Wiederkehr Weinkeller Restaurant in Altus, AR, where she made many life-long friends. She served her community as a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star.

In her retirement, Barbara enjoyed time spent with loved ones, enjoying games of bunco, and embarking on adventures near and far. Her zest for life and warm spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebratio­n of Barbara’s life will be held at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 6:00 pm, with visitation starting at 5:00 pm. Let us gather to honor and remember a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
