Della Douglas

ALMA - Della Jane Douglas, 90, of Alma, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Monday February 26, 2024. Della was retired from Dixie Cup and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Alma where she loved to play music and sing with the choir. She was a member of the Water Babes water aerobics group at Mercy Fitness in Fort Smith and an active member in her Bunco group. Della loved to go on cruises and just “go” with her friends and family. She was an excellent cook, an avid Razorback fan, and will be missed by all those who knew her. Della was born June 13, 1933 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late James Carr and Mary Jane (Edgin) Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Ray Douglas; parents, James Carr and Mary Jane Cole; stepfather, Ray Cole; son-in-law, Chad Escalante; brother, Jim Pat Carr; and sister, Margaret Brown.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma with interment to follow at Love Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Brown, Jesse Murphy, Kyle Carr, and Billy Ray Dean Services are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.

Della is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Escalante of Alma, AR; son, Dr. Rickey Douglas and wife Charlotte of Alma, AR; grandchildren, Cole Douglas and wife heather, Jordan Malone and husband Cody, Molly Dunaway, Kerri Smith and husband Torry, Kelsey Siebenmorgen and husband Chris, Chelsea Escalante; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joy Carr, Mary “Babe” Douglas, Phyllis Douglas; brother-in-law, Billy Ray Dean; and several nieces and nephews.
