BAYOU VISTA, TX - Terry “Mick” Lynn Watkins, Jr., 53, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at DeBakey Veteran’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mick was born on July 4, 1970 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Terry Lynn and Melba Sue Prescott Watkins. He attended Fort Smith Schools and graduated from Southside High School.

Mick was in the United States Marines where he served our country for 4 years and was honorably discharged. Mick later met the love of his life, Mariah Watkins, and they married on September 13, 1997. Together they are parents to their one son, Joseph Watkins.

Mick was preceded in death by his mother, Melba, and both his paternal and maternal grandparen­ts. He is survived by his wife, Mariah of the home, and son, Joseph, of Galveston. He is also survived by his Dad and wife, Kaay Watkins of Fort Smith, Arkansas, along with his sister Crystal Cook (Joe) of Malvern, Arkansas and his brother Travis Watkins (Kimberly) of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mick was known for his cooking skills and everyone loved his Mexican food. He and his wife shared a dream to one day live at the beach. A few years ago they were able to move to Galveston, Texas where their dreams came true. They loved the beach life and the beautiful water in their backyard. Mick loved his wife and family dearly and was also loved by so many. He always had a kind smile and a listening ear. He would do anything for anyone.

Mick’s celebratio­n of life will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 1:00pm, at Massard Missionary Baptist Church with graveside following at Oliver Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Mick’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project at 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonvil­le, FL 32256.
