Ch­e­sa­peake Home Show set for week­end

EAS­TON — The 23rd An­nual Ch­e­sa­peake Spring Home Show, pre­sented by The Star

Demo­crat and spon­sored by Long and Fos­ter Real Es­tate Eastern Shore will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Satur­day and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun­day at the Tal­bot County Com­mu­nity Cen­ter in Eas­ton.

This an­nual event show­cases the new­est ideas in home re­mod­el­ing and con­struc­tion and of­fers ev­ery­thing you need to pre­pare your home for the spring and sum­mer sea­son. The theme this year for the event is “Kitchens, Crafts and Col­lec­tions.”

Jamie Merida and his team of de­sign­ers from Boun­ti­ful In­te­ri­ors will share de­sign tips from his ex­pe­ri­ence de­sign­ing sim­ple to un­be­liev­able kitchen spa­ces. Merida will present at 11 a.m. Satur­day with a fo­cus on color, floor­ing, ap­pli­ances and cook­ing work space tri­an­gle strate­gies. There will be time set aside to en­ter­tain au­di­ence ques­tions.

Food­ies will be thrilled to ex­pe­ri­ence a new con­cept to the show, Taste Mary­land in April. Ch­e­sa­peake Har­vest will host an in­door farm-totable farm­ers mar­ket on the show floor with more than 15 lo­cal farm­ers, pro­duc­ers and craft bev­er­age mak­ers sell­ing their goods.

Come sip, sam­ple and pur­chase de­lights in­dica­tive of the Eastern Shore and meet your lo­cal farm­ers. This is a per­fect way for all food bon vi­vants to en­joy a taste of the shore.

Tra­di­tional home show ven­dors and ar­ti­san crafters will be avail­able to­gether in the main expo area. There are more than 90 cat­e­gories that of­fer a one-of-a-kind

set­ting where you can re­ceive in­for­ma­tion on your home project un­der one roof.

Bring the fam­ily and have the kids try out the 18-foot dry slide set up on the Com­mu­nity Cen­ter lawn Satur­day and Sun­day for the du­ra­tion of show hours. Tal­bot Hu­mane will of­fer cud­dly an­i­mals and pet ac­ces­sories dur­ing the event. Grills on Wheels will grill pit beef and sliced turkey breast sand­wiches with the fix­ings. Fam­ily friendly food con­ces­sions will be avail­able at the event.

Ar­rive early for best se­lec­tion of fra­grant spring flow­ers.

Ad­mis­sion is $5 per fam­ily and $3 a per­son. Pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the Star Demo­crat’s Brighter Christ­mas Fund, help­ing lo­cal fam­i­lies through­out Mid-Shore Coun­ties for more than 30 years. The first 15 peo­ple to at­tend the show each day will get their pick of door­buster give­aways.
