James Leon Mercer III (Lit­tle Jimmy) passed away from con­ges­tive heart fail­ure on June 24, 2018.

He was born Septem­ber 26, 1965 at An­drews Air Force Base to James and Carolyn Mered­ith Mercer. Jimmy lived life to the fullest, trav­el­ing all over the world and the United States. A lot of his trav­el­ing was done on a mo­tor­cy­cle. Jimmy was a very tal­ented man that could do any job well that he set his mind to. He fi­nally set­tled down when he met the love of his Life, Mary Blair. At the time of his death they were liv­ing in Franklin, Vir­ginia where he was em­ployed by Cordell Ex­te­ri­ors, Inc.

Jimmy is sur­vived by his son James Leon Mercer IV (Har­ley), his fi­ance Mary Blair and her son Jeremy and grand­son Gavin, his fa­ther James Leon Mercer II and wife Betty, his sis­ter Michelle Mercer, his brother Robert and wife Wendy, pa­ter­nal grand­mother, Nel­lie Mercer, nieces Lau­ren Mil­ner, Sa­van­nah and Je­na­pher Mercer and nephew Joe Mil­ner, Aunts Joanne, Bev­erly, Bar­bara, Deb­bie and his idol Un­cle R.J. Mered­ith, nu­mer­ous cousins, friends and loved ones.

He was pre­de­ceased by his lov­ing mother, Carolyn Mered­ith Mercer, his nephew, Colton Mercer, his ma­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Robert and Claire Mered­ith and his pa­ter­nal grand­par­ent, James Leon Mercer.

A memo­rial ser­vice was held Sat­ur­day, June 30 at 9:30 at Chest­nut Grove Church in Fed­er­als­burg, MD with Rev. Den­zil Cheek of­fi­ci­at­ing.
