Dist. 36 House, Se­nate fo­rums set for Oct. 3

WYE MILLS — Fo­rums for can­di­dates for District 36 Mary­land House and Se­nate will be held back to back Wed­nes­day, Oct. 3, at Cadby The­ater, Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege, Wye Mills, lo­cated at the in­ter­sec­tions of Routes 50 and 213.

The fo­rum for can­di­dates for Mary­land State House of Del­e­gates will be­gin at 7 p.m.

Del. Steven Arentz R36-Queen Anne’s; Del. Jay Ja­cobs, R-36-Kent; Del. Jeff Ghrist, R-36-Caro­line; Demo­crat Michael Welker; and Demo­crat Crys­tal Wood­ward plan to be in at­ten­dance.

The fo­rum for can­di­dates for Mary­land State Se­nate will be­gin at 8 p.m.

State Sen. Stephen Hershey, R-36-Up­per Shore, chal­lenged by Demo­crat Heather Sin­clair have con­firmed they will at­tend.

Can­di­dates will have an op­por­tu­nity to in­tro­duce them­selves and an­swer ques­tions from the au­di­ence. Each can­di­date will also present clos­ing re­marks All can­di­date fo­rums are free and open to the pub­lic.

The League does not sup­port or op­pose any can­di­date. Fo­rums will be taped by QACTV. League of Women Vot­ers rules, in com­pli­ance with its non­profit sta­tus and cam­paign fi­nance law, do not al­low a fo­rum for only one can­di­date.

If only one can­di­date for an of­fice ap­pears at the League fo­rum for that of­fice, the fo­rum will be can­celed. No demon­stra­tions are al­lowed in the event venue. No cloth­ing or signs in­di­cat­ing sup­port for or against a can­di­date will be per­mit­ted. Fo­rums may not be recorded or filmed, un­less with writ­ten agree­ment from the League of Women Vot­ers.
