His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety to cel­e­brate Her­itage Day

FEDERALSBURG — The Federalsburg His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will host its an­nual Her­itage Day Cel­e­bra­tion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Satur­day, Oct. 20, at 100 Covey Wil­liams Al­ley in Federalsburg.

Stop by the mu­seum and en­joy the count­less dis­plays, shop for a unique gift or pur­chase tick­ets for the His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety’s an­nual An­tique Trunk and “His­toric Ex­eter” Can­dle­light Din­ner raf­fles. This year’s an­nual Christ­mas or­na­ment, “The Federalsburg Tas­tee Freez,” also will be mak­ing its de­but, and a spe­cial ex­hibit of mem­o­ra­bilia from the orig­i­nal Tas­tee Freez will be on dis­play.

Her­itage Day will be fea­tur­ing a se­lec­tion of Charles M. Walker’s paint­ings for sale, which were do­nated from his es­tate by his fam­ily. Walker was a na­tive of Federalsburg, and his artis­tic achieve­ments were hon­ored through­out the United States and at­tracted at­ten­tion in Europe in the 1920s. What be­came of his art ca­reer is a mys­tery.
