27th Thanksgiving meal set
DENTON — The 27th annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 22, with the goal to serve serve 1,100 meals.
The dinner is sponsored by Neighbors United To Serve (NUTS) and hosted by St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 5th and Franklin streets, Denton.
Serving anyone and everyone, the freeof-charge, no-questions-asked, traditional, home-cooked, roasted turkey dinners with all the trimmings are made possible entirely by donations from scores of Caroline County residents.

The reservation deadline is Monday, Nov. 19, or when reservations reach 1,100 meals.
Food preparation will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at St. Luke’s Church and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the same day at Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel.
Food packaging for delivery will be from 6 to 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at St. Luke’s Church in Denton. Meal pickups at Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel will be 6 to 7:30 a.m.

Please note that this year there will be no sitdown meal at St. Luke’s and neither will meals be prepared for carry-out pick-up at St. Luke’s.
The ministry’s servant volunteers include members of local churches, schools, charities and civic organizations.
Caroline County community members came together on Thanksgiving Day in 2017 to prepare and deliver more than 1,110 meals to local residents as part of the 26th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by NUTS (Neighbors United To Serve).
