Com­pass Hospice Fes­ti­val of Trees be­gins

DEN­TON — Com­pass Re­gional Hospice will be host­ing, along with Bill and Gail Tow­ers, the 2018 Caro­line County Fes­ti­val of Trees.

The event will take place at the Tow­ers Fam­ily His­tor­i­cal Mu­seum, 26299 Sen­nett Road, Den­ton, and all pro­ceeds will ben­e­fit hospice and grief sup­port ser­vices in Caro­line County pro­vided by Com­pass Re­gional Hospice, the sole hospice and grief sup­port ser­vices provider in Caro­line County since 2014.

“It’s an honor and priv­i­lege to be able to host the hospice Fes­ti­val of Trees again this year,” said Bill Tow­ers, owner of the Tow­ers Fam­ily His­tor­i­cal Mu­seum in Den­ton.

The event be­gan Tues­day, Nov. 27, with tree setup. The tree setup will con­tinue on Wed­nes­day, Nov. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m. Trees will be avail­able for view­ing from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri­day, Nov. 30, and Santa will make a spe­cial ap­pear­ance that evening, as well. Trees will again be avail­able for view­ing from 2 to 4 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 1. The venue will be closed for a pri­vate event on Thurs­day, Nov. 29.

On­line bid­ding for the trees will be­gin at 4 p.m. Thurs­day, Nov. 29, and will run through 4 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 1, and will be fa­cil­i­tated by Trice Auc­tions. Who­ever has the win­ning bid on a tree will be no­ti­fied and can pick up their tree between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sun­day, Dec. 2.

“At some point in your life, some­one you know or some­one in your fam­ily will be touched by the need for hospice care,” Tow­ers said. “Hospice pro­vides a very nec­es­sary ser­vice in our com­mu­nity. The Fes­ti­val of Trees is a great way to show your sup­port by ei­ther spon­sor­ing a tree, by bid­ding on one of the trees, or by just com­ing and en­joy­ing the beauty of this sea­son.”
