Christmas Around Caroline continues
DENTON — Christmas Around Caroline continues with more holiday events on December’s calendar in the county.
Denton’s Holiday Parade and Lighting of the Green will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. See bands, fire trucks, floats, classic cars, horses and more as the parade makes its way down Market Street to the Caroline County Circuit Courthouse. The Lighting of the Green, sponsored by the Denton Rotary Club, Caroline County Garden Club and Caroline county Recreation and Parks, will follow the parade at the courthouse.
Santa’s Magic Workshop will be held on three different days in December at Martinak State Park in Denton. The event opens from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, and continues from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
Admission is one canned good per person to be given to the local food pantry. Caroline Recreation and Parks hosts holiday ornament making, hayrides through the Enchanted Campground, tour through a model train display and a visit from Santa.
The Greensboro hosts its Lighting of the City and Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. The parade begins on Sunset Avenue and ends at Riverside Park. Santa also will be making an appearance.
The fifth annual Santa Chase will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at Martinak State Park in Denton. Pre-registration is $15 per person before Dec. 5 or $50 for a group of four during advanced registration. Dogs are welcomed. The event is a twomile run, walk or jog with holiday magic. Candle luminaries and holiday lights mark the race trail. Registration is from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and the race begins at 4:45 p.m. For more information, call 410-479-8120.
Federalsburg hosts its annual Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, along Main Street. Santa Claus will visit the Federslsburg Heritage Museum after the parade.
