Public safety: Drug bust, one false alarm
Man arrested on suspicion of possessing meth for sale; theater evacuated Sunday on false alarm of gas leak.
From a Eureka Police Department release:
Around 10 a.m. Monday, a Waterfront/Parks Ranger with the Eureka Police Department’s Community Safety Enhancement
Team contacted 52-year-old Todd Newby of Eureka near the public restrooms on Marina Way.
Newby had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody. During the search of his person, Newby was found to be in possession of 12 grams of methamphetamine in various packaging and other items consistent with the sale of methamphetamine.
Newby was booked into the Humboldt County jail on his warrant and on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale.
