Rotarians offer thanks for Veterans Day supporters

- Ken Singleton, president, Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka; John Ennis, event coordinator

On Nov. 11 the Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka was proud to host, in partnership with the city of Eureka, its annual Veterans Day observance and program. Attended by hundreds of residents of the North Coast, it was our privilege to provide an opportunity for our community to recognize, thank and honor the men and women who selflessly serve our country. Col. Ronald Pierre, USAF (Ret.) provided our keynote presentation and discussed the role of America’s servicemen and women across generations. We thank Col. Pierre for his presentation and we thank those who participated in and contributed to this year’s Veterans Day program: city of Eureka; Eureka High School Music Department; Capt. William F. Honsal, Jr., Eureka Police Department (Ret.); Humboldt Bay Fire; Humboldt Highlanders Pipe Band; Redwood Forest Chapter, NSDAR; Teen Challenge; Humboldt Harmonaires; American Red Cross; Cub Scout Pack 28; Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard; Mad River Community Veterans Honor Guard; United States Army; United States Marine Corps; United States Navy; United States Coast Guard; United States Air Force; and United States Merchant Marine.

And, most especially, we thank the men and women who have served and who continue to serve and sacrifice for our country.

Thank you.
