None hurt after truck drives into Eureka house
Nobody was injured when a Ford pickup truck drove into the office space of a home around 2 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of Carson and F streets.
One homeowner, a man, was home at the time, said Humboldt Bay Fire spokesperson Amy Conlin on Monday afternoon. His spouse came home shortly thereafter.
“The structure was still sound when they took the truck out,” said Conlin. “They were able to isolate the front portion of that room. The homeowners will be able to stay in the house.”
The value of the damage is unknown at this point, she said.
The Eureka Police Department was on the scene and performed a breathalyzer on the driver of the pickup.
“They did end up letting him leave,” said Conlin, noting that if he blew higher than the legal limit that would not be the case.
Neither the driver nor the occupants of the home have been identified.
EPD did not respond to a request for comment ahead of the publishing deadline.
