‘Mini Masters’ offers creative fun for children
The Humboldt Arts Council’s “Mini Masters” program will take place Dec. 7 at noon at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. in Eureka. Children who attend this free event will also be able to take home a free book.
The program includes a read aloud of “If” by Sarah Perry, a book with watercolor illustrations that make up a world of wacky and limitless possibilities. The images in this book will conjure up a world of boundless opportunities where anything can happen: leaves turn into green fish, cats fly about on wings and butterflies become a little girl’s coat of many colors. After the read aloud, everyone will do a painting activity.
Carrying on the mission of the long-running program, PBSNC Kids Club, this monthly workshop includes story time, tours of current exhibitions, literacy games and art activities. It’s designed for families of children ages 2 to 8, but all ages are welcome.
