No. 4: In-N-Out set to open in early 2020
Other fast food spots also set to open along Broadway in new year
Late in 2018, news broke about plans to build an InN-Out site in Eureka. With 2019 winding down, the building appears to be in the final stages at the corner of Broadway and Vigo St.
Local residents are hungry for updates on the status of the opening of the chain, which plans to open in the first quarter of 2020.
“Last I heard was first quarter of 2020,” said Eureka Public Works Director Brian Gerving said in November. “They seem to be progressing well as is the building at the property.”
Gerving said this month that the work on the traffic signal, which was approved by the city council earlier in 2019, was already in process.
“A lot of the underground work has been completed,” Gerving said. “At some point in the very near future, probably after the first of the year, the rest of the work will happen.”
Company officials were vague in their response to when the spot will open when asked in November.

is currently under construction, however, it is still too early to predict an opening date,” said Carl Arena, the vice president of real estate and development, at that time.
In the same center as InN-Out, there will also be a Chipotle and a Mod Pizza, both being new food businesses in the area. Other fast-food spots are also believed to be in progress.
Kentucky Fried Chicken is eyeing a spot where the Blue Heron motel used to be and Mountain Mike’s plans to open in the shopping center where Carl’s Jr. and Taco Bell are located.
There is clearly excitement both from the company and the local community about the prospect of In-N-Out’s opening.
“Eureka is a wonderful community and we definitely look forward to having this great location to serve our customers,” Arena said.
