Music, art for kids planned at museum
North Coast Music Together will present a free program Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St., Eureka.
Music Together, based in Princeton, New Jersey, is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners and the adults who love them (but all ages are welcome!). North Coast Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. Teachers Jose Quezada and
Heather Shelton will guide children and their families in song, dance and music making Saturday morning. For more information about Music Together, visit www. ncmusictogether.com.
Mini Masters
Stick around after the Music Together program for Mini Masters at noon at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. The program includes story-time, art activities and a free children’s book.
This month’s Mini Masters program will celebrate the Morris Graves Museum of Art’s 20th anniversary. Everyone will watch a clip of the PBS show, “Wild Kratts,” where the Kratt Brothers talk about the blue heron, which was one of the late artist Morris Graves’ most popular subjects. Afterward, everyone will draw animals of Humboldt County.
Carrying on the mission of the long running program, PBSNC Kids Club, this monthly workshop includes story time, tours of current exhibitions, literacy games and art activities. It is designed for families of children ages 2 to 8, but all ages are welcome.
