Editor’s note: The following is a list of the board, commission and council meetings that are scheduled this week around Humboldt County.

Arcata City Council

When: First and third Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.; special meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday

Where: City Hall Council Chamber: 736 F St, Arcata

• The council will meet in closed session at 4 p.m. to discuss two cases of existing litigation relating to the unsolved homicide of David Josiah Lawson and one case of potential litigation relating to a parcel on West End Road.

• During the special meeting, the council will interview candidates for two open positions on the city’s planning commission. During the regular meeting, the council will appoint two candidates.

• During the regular meeting, the council will consider awarding a $1.3 million contract for paving on Bayside Road.

• The council will discuss the recommenda­tions of the Plaza Improvemen­t Task Force.

• The council will review the Arcata Open Door Health Center project.

• The council will consider giving themselves pay raises.

College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees

When: First Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.

Where: 7351 Tompkins Hill Road, Eureka

• The board will discuss travel to the annual trustees conference in Southern California.

• The board will discuss the collective bargaining agreement between the Redwoods Community College District and the California School Employees Associatio­n.

• The board will discuss a request for proposals for wind energy.

Eureka City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: Eureka City Council chambers, 531 K Street, Eureka

• The council will consider approving a contract with Synergo to build the canopy walk at Sequoia Park Zoo for no more than $2.3 million.

• The council will consider updates to its procuremen­t policies.

Humboldt County Board of Supervisor­s

When: Every Tuesday except for the fifth Tuesday of a month

Where: Supervisor­s chambers, 825 Fifth St., Eureka

• During its regular meeting, the board will consider letters of support to the California Fish and Game Commission on changes to elk hunting and goose season.

• The board will consider outsourcin­g of payroll services to ADP.

• The board will receive an update from the Human Rights Commission on the human traffickin­g fund.

• The board will discuss the impact of consumer price index increases on cannabis excise tax bills.

• The board will meet in closed session at noon to discuss legal matters and a performanc­e evaluation of County Counsel Jeff Blanck.

Humboldt County Human Rights Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 5 p.m.

Humboldt County Planning Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

• The board will hold a public workshop on changes in state law to accessory dwelling units and its effect on local ordinances.

Rio Dell City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.
