CR athletics to restrict attendance
Beginning March 22 spectators will not be allowed to attend athletic events at College of the Redwoods, the college announced Tuesday.
The decision comes as a precautionary measure in response to the recent outbreak of COVID-19.
All spectators, including family members of athletes, will not be permitted to attend any athletics events at CR.
CR’s baseball team, which plays its home games at Bomber FieldRedwood Acres, will for now continue to allow spectators until further notice.
CR’s athletic director Bob Brown said the college’s precautionary measures are being evaluated day-to-day, and that there is no time-table as to when CR may begin allowing spectators back into events at CR once the restrictions come into effect.
March 22, a Sunday, is the first official day back after CR’s spring break.
The college will continue to live-stream its sporting events on the CR athletics Facebook page after the restrictions go into effect.
