Frozen meals now available to seniors

Here is the Humboldt Senior Resource Center’s revised Activities Calendar and Dining Center Information as of March 31:

Activities program: The Senior Services Office in Eureka is now closed. Call 707-443-9747, ext. 1240, for information about how to purchase Dial-a-Ride tickets through the mail. All other activities are temporarily suspended.

Nutrition program: Note the following changes in HSRC Nutrition services:

· Home Delivered Meals service continues. Delivery days will be adjusted; all HDM recipients will receive an update.

• All three senior dining centers have transitioned from hot meals to take-out frozen meals that will be available via drive-by pick-up only. Meals are available by reservation only for those 60 and older, along with their spouse. Each takeout package will include a variety of five frozen meals. Pick-up schedules are as follows:

• Arcata at the Arcata Community Center, 321 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Pick-up on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Drive to the east side of the building where the Senior Room entrance is located and staff will bring the meals to you. For reservations, call 707-825-2027.

• Eureka at the Humboldt Senior Resource Center, 1910 California St. Pick-up on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Drive into the parking lot and park in a space near the back door; staff will bring the meals to you. For reservations, call 707442-1181.

• Fortuna at the Gene Lucas Community Center, 3000 Newburg Road. Pick-up on Thursdays from noon to 12:30 p.m. Pull up in front of the Fortuna Senior Center wing; staff will bring the meals to you. For reservations, call 707-725-6245.
