The Times-Standard Editor’s note: The following is a list of the board, commission and council meetings that are scheduled this week around Humboldt County.
Arcata City Council
When: First and third Wednesday of every month at 6p.m.; May 18study session is canceled.
Where: Meetings can be viewed on the city’s website.
• The council will consider extending the declaration of an emergency because of COVID-19.
• The council will discuss a possible ballot measure that would increase the cap on affordable housing in the city.

Eureka City Council When:
First and third Tuesdays of the month at 6p.m.
Where: Eureka City Council chambers, 531 K St., Eureka.
• The council will meet in closed session at 5p.m. to discuss two cases of existing litigation and one case in anticipated litigation.
• The council will hold a public hearing to discuss unpaid garbage and recycling fees.
• The council will consider delaying a payment from Bear River for the creation of the coyote and bear exhibit at the Sequoia Park Zoo from June to December.
• The council will consider an agreement with Verizon Wireless for antennas at the water tower in Eureka.
• The council will consider providing early retirements to six employees, including a police officer, a senior detective, and the zoo director.
• The council will consider extending the poet laureate term from one to two years.
• The council will consider how to approach ranked choice voting.
• The council will receive an update on finances and COVID-19from the city manager.

Eureka Economic Development Commission
When: Third Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m.

Ferndale City Council
When: Third Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.

• The council will meet in closed session at 6p.m. for real property negotiations and to discuss one anticipated case of litigation.
• During its regular meeting, the council will discuss proposed increases to sewer rates.
• The council will receive an update on the COVID-19situation.

Fortuna City Council
When: First and third Mondays of every month at 6p.m.

• The council will consider whether to hire the Mitchell Law Firm for legal services. They were previously working on an interim basis after the city attorney for more than 30years retired.
• The council will consider whether to place signs on Fortuna Boulevard honoring the graduating class of 2020from Fortuna Union High School.
• The council will receive a police facility planning update.

Humboldt County Association of Governments
When: Third Thursday of each month at 4 p.m.
Where: 611 I St., Eureka
• The board will consider a contract for supplemental patrols of state Routes 36, 96and 169by the California Highway Patrol.
• The board will receive reports from Caltrans on the Highway 101Corridor Project, Last Chance Grade and the Eureka-Arcata safety corridor.

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors
When: 9a.m. every Tuesday except for the fifth Tuesday of a month.
Where: The meeting can be viewed on the county’s website or on Access Humboldt channels.
• The board will receive an information update on the appointment of Ronnie Pellegrini to the Humboldt County Planning Commission representing District
2.
• The board will consider recommendations for the Project Trellis micro-grant program.
• The board will consider a resolution to approve all projects funded by SB 1, the gas tax.
• The board will hold a public hearing to provide information about Immigration and Customs Enforcements access and semi-annual reporting on Measure K.
• The board will consider placing an item on the ballot regarding the development of affordable housing.
• At 9a.m., the board will receive an update on the situation surrounding COVID-19.
• In closed session, the board will discuss the appointment of the agricultural commissioner and the director of library services. The board will also discuss one case of litigation and conduct labor negotiations.

Humboldt County Planning Commission

• The commission will discuss the county’s Accessory Dwelling Unit ordinance that needs to be updated to comply with new regulations.

Rio Dell City Council
When: First and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.

• The council will have a discussion on homelessness in the city.
• The council will receive a presentation on the proposed operating budget for fiscal year 2020-21.

Trinidad City Council
When: Special meeting Thursday at 6 p.m.
Where: Trinidad Town Hall 409Trinity St., Trinidad
• The council will receive an update on the stormwater project.
• The council will discuss a three-month extension for law enforcement services with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
