Gov. Newsom is looking to be a one-term governor

Times Standard (Eureka) - - OPINION -

It’s totally amazing how the government believes that taking from the ones, who are in need, the most and they are living in the fifth wealthiest economy of the world, do they truly believe that the measly amount that they take from the elderly, the sick, the poor, the blacks, the Latinos, the children’s lunch boxes, that is going to boost the economy of California. What I see is going to happen, is that Gov. Newsom is looking to be a oneterm governor. I would like to ask Gov. Newsom, “What’s your next trick, Mr. Governor Soylent Green?” It’s faster, and if you do properly, hardly anyone will notice the decline of the elderly. This brings to mind George Bernard Shaw, who wrote that “America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between.” I find that very compelling and extremely interesting. All other civilizations on this planet value their elderly; they care for them within the family, never pushing them out of their own homes to have strangers care for their loved ones; in other countries, they nourished their elders and care for them, as there is a need for us. Just imagine, it won’t be too long before we will be very valued if not for anything else, but for the fact that we are the only ones left that can write cursive.
