Brandy Morton joins Coast Central

Coast Central Credit Union announced that Brandy Morton has joined the organizati­on as Controller in its Accounting Department, reporting to VP Chief Financial Officer Fred Moore. Michael Burghart, current Controller, will be retiring next month.

Morton comes to the organizati­on with 15 years of related experience with the Hoopa Valley Tribe, primarily in its Fiscal Department, serving as Chief Financial Officer for the last five years. Her expertise spans oversight of day to day operations while adhering to Federal, State, and Tribal regulation­s; monthly and annual budgets; financial analysis, purchase order and payroll processing; general ledger management; financial compliance audits; and more.

A Humboldt County native and enrolled member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, Morton is a Hoopa High School and Humboldt State University graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion and emphasis in Accounting. She lives in Hoopa with her husband and they have three children, a son and two grown daughters who are both police officers. Morton and her family enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors.
