CCCU awards grants to 14 organizations
Coast Central Credit Union is awarding $100,000 in grants through its Community Investment Program’s spring round to 14 local organizations. A total of 54 nonprofits had requested over $750,000. Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorship, college scholarship and employee volunteer programs.
Spring 2022 recipients include:
Humboldt County
• $15,000 to Hospice of Humboldt for a cargo van for donation pickups
• $12,475 to the Northern California Community Blood Bank for blood analysis devices
• $10,000 to Dream Quest for center for underprivileged youth (also serves Trinity County)
• $7,500 to Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department for technical training for emergency responders
• $5,000 to CASA of Humboldt for a keyless entry/lighting system
• $5,000 to Ferndale Police Department for a generator and equipment for emergency response team
• $5,000 for Humboldt Trails Council for a mower for trail maintenance
• $5,000 to Redway Elementary PTSA for soccer field renovation
• $4,800 to the Eureka Woman’s Club for the whole milk for homeless shelters program
• $3,275 to the Mattole Restoration Council for radios for emergency communication.
Del Norte County
• $8,950 for Gasquet Fire Protection District for cargo trailer for rescue gear.
Trinity County
• $8,000 for Lewiston Community Services District for AED and new gear for firefighters
• $7,000 to Weaverville Fire Protection for extractor/washer/dryer for carcinogen exposure
• $3,000 to Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire Department for saw for accident rescues and fires.
