Doss has right priorities for supervisor
Recently the 5th District incumbent and challenger Larry Doss faced each other in public forums. What has come to light is that our current Supervisor is not in favor of reliable water sources for all residents. This seems misguided at a time when Humboldt County families are struggling with food insecurity, high housing costs and natural disasters. Madrone prioritizes trails projects in Southern Humboldt and the creation of a park for visitors on a McKinleyville bluff. The supervisor seems to underestimate the severe impact crimes have on our communities and dismisses the importance of installing consequences for fentanyl dealers. Instead, he looks to combat fentanyl-related deaths by providing housing and incentives. Unfortunately, the supervisor’s unreasonable demands of developers and failure to provide incentives get in the way of affordable development. Madrone frequently ignores current zoning and building rules and dismisses professional experts‘ opinions that don’t align with his own. When offering hydrological consultation to the City of Trinidad, Madrone based recommendations on false data and misleading information, which he presented under Board of Supervisor letterhead. There is a history of disrespect, false allegations and bullying which is not acceptable for leadership. While Madrone will continue to work hard for fish and trails, expect Larry Doss to work with and for Humboldt’s residents, families, all tribes, farmers, fisheries, businesses, schools and organizations. Let’s set our county up for a bright future, fight crime, save our water and jobs, provide housing for all! Vote for Larry Doss for 5th District Supervisor!
