‘Let’s keep our neighborhoods safe’
As a mental health professional, I believe that it is my duty to publicly take a neutral position in elections. I also support everyone having the opportunity to shape our community, which benefits from the diversity of ideas.
Regarding Natalie Arroyo, this person has contributed a lot to our community. My experiences and conversations with others in the Rosewood Area (especially F Street, Eureka) around GPS rerouting fast traffic through that neighborhood school zone, creating a de facto super corridor became something I took on to remedy. The wellbeing of all became of great concern. I reached out to the local supervisor at the time, who had installed traffic control in neighborhoods with less dangerous conditions, but allowed this area to languish. A school meeting diminished what neighbors reported. We then came together to formally organize and connected with Natalie, who helped us network, explain reports, history and stats in kind ways. Together, we stood for the neighborhood, because Natalie initially took time from her schedule to support our efforts toward well-being for all. The result of this was the supervisor finally listened to the concerns, accidents reduced, and several grants were written to support traffic control in the school zone. Natalie has intelligence, is active in her community and not just collecting a paycheck or part of a super-pack that pays their friends. Natalie has integrity and works with her neighbors, and she has my vote. It always takes all of us. Let’s keep our neighborhoods safe — please vote.
