Swedish pancakes
A Swedish pancake breakfast will be held Sunday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road, Eureka. The cost is $10.
Birding walk
The Redwood Region Audubon Society will hold a Southern Humboldt birding walk on Feb. 25 starting at 8:30 a.m.
This walk includes two to three miles of gentle walking through riparian, grassland and mixed hardwood forests with bird species varying by season. In the winter, white-crowned and golden-crowned sparrows abound and Lincoln’s sparrows, Northern harriers and Wilson’s snipe might be observed, as well as the yearround residents like jays, towhees, woodpeckers and several raptor species.
Everyone will meet in the Tooby Park parking lot on Sprowl Creek Road in
Garberville.
This trip occurs on the fourth Saturday of every month, unless it’s raining, and the trip leaders vary by month. For more information, email annconstantino@gmail.com.
A “Pints for Nonprofits” fundraiser for Godwit Days will take place March 2 starting at 5 p.m. at The Pub at the Creamery, 824 L St., Suite A in Arcata.
One dollar of every draft beer, cider, kombucha or soda (not wine) sold between 1 and 9 p.m. will support the Godwit Days Spring Migration Bird Festival, which returns to the Arcata Community Center in mid-April after a fouryear hiatus.
Fellow birders and board members will be on hand at this event. The Pub also has a full menu of food to purchase.
