Film festival
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Humboldt International Film Festival will present a free screening of “Women of the World,” a series of femme-focused international short films, at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Van Duzer Theatre on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus in Arcata. A discussion will follow.

Marsh tour
The Redwood Region Audubon Society will present a free guided field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Bring binoculars and meet trip leader Cindy Moyer at the end of South I Street (Klopp Lake) in Arcata to enjoy easy-to-walk trails and an opportunity to view a diverse range of overwintering shorebirds and soon-to-be nesting resident songbirds.
Tour the marsh
Friends of the Arcata Marsh is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday.
Meet leader Elliott Dabill at 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-orshine walk focusing on marsh ecology. Masks are strongly recommended inside the building. For more information, call 707-8262359.
Artist talk
An “Art Talk” with artist Annakatrin Burnham will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St., Eureka.
Burnham has an exhibit, “T/HERE,” on view at the museum.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors, students and military personnel and free for Humboldt Arts Council members, children under 17 and families with EBT card.
Grange pancakes
A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Freshwater Grange, 48 Grange Road, Freshwater.
The menu includes buttermilk and whole-grain pancakes, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs (with optional salsa and cheese), apple compote, orange juice, tea and French roast coffee. Cost for adults is $10 and for children, $7.
Time to dance
Dances with live bands are from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road, Eureka. Admission is $9.
Weekly bingo
Bingo games are played Tuesdays at the Moose Lodge, 4328 Campton Road, Eureka. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games start at 6. A snack bar is available.
About roses
The Humboldt Rose Society will meet at 7 p.m. March 9 at Christ Episcopal Church in the Lewis Room, 15th and H streets in Eureka. (Ample parking is available at 14th and G streets.)
Humboldt Rose Society rosarians will present soil enrichment techniques. Rosarian Richard Grabowski will bring a microscope and slides to show healthy and unhealthy soil at a microscopic level.
The meeting is open to the public and all are invited. There will be door prizes and refreshments.
