Editor’s note: The following is a list of the board, commission and council meetings that are scheduled in the coming week around Humboldt County.

Arcata City Council

When: Special meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Where: City Hall Council Chamber: 736 F St, Arcata

• The council will host a special meeting to look at goals for the 2023-24 fiscal year.

College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees

When: First Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.

Where: 7351 Tompkins Hill Road, Eureka

• The board will consider travel to the CCLC 2023 Annual Trustees Conference in May.

• The board will consider reducing the nonresiden­t tuition fees to be in line with Mendocino and Shasta colleges.

• The board will hear a report on the recognitio­n of student-athletes.

• The board will consider funding for a $53 million student housing project.

Eureka City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.; special meeting at 5 p.m.

Where: Eureka City Council chambers, 531 K Street, Eureka

• During the special meeting, the council will receive a report on capital improvemen­ts in 2023.

• During the regular meeting, the council will consider sponsoring the Rhododendr­on Parade.

• The council will consider a transporta­tion allowance for elected officials.

• The council will consider a bid for the bear and coyote exhibit at Sequoia Park Zoo.

• The council will consider settlement­s over the opioid crisis.

• The council will consider an ordinance on decorum in council meetings that allow for disruptive residents to be removed.

Fortuna City Council

When: First and third Monday of every month at 6 p.m.

Where: City Hall council chambers 621 11th Street, Fortuna

• The council will receive a report on Measure E.

• The council will consider approving opposition to a proposed bill that would prohibit the use of police K-9s for apprehensi­on and crowd control.

• The council will consider an agreement between the city and the county over a library building.

• The council will consider a nearly $1 million and a supplement­al budget of $783,000 for surface coating of water tanks that were installed in 1989 and

1990 and that were showing signs of failure in 2022 during the most recent inspection.

Humboldt Bay Fire Joint Powers Authority

When: Second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.

Where: Humboldt Bay Fire Conference Room, 533 C Street Eureka,

• The board will discuss a 2022-23 mid-year budget review.

• The board will discuss a military leave policy.

Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District

When: Second Thursday of each month at 9 a.m.

Where: 828 Seventh St., Eureka

• The board will continue water resource planning for Nordic Aquafarms and the Trinidad Rancheria.

• The board will meet in closed session at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the initiation of litigation.

• The board will discuss Brown Act implementa­tion.

Humboldt County Board of Supervisor­s

When: Every Tuesday except for the fifth Tuesday of a month at 9 a.m.

Where: Supervisor­s chambers, 825 Fifth St., Eureka

• The board will consider an agreement with the McLean Foundation in response to the Dec. 20, 2022, earthquake.

• The board will consider dissolving the Housing Trust Fund and Homelessne­ss Solutions Committee.

• The board will consider extending a local emergency related to winter storms that caused downed trees, disrupted utility services, damaged and flooded roadways, and mudslides.

• The board will consider extending the emergency related to the Dec. 20, 2022, earthquake.

• The board will consider an at-large appointmen­t to the planning commission.

• The board will consider recommenda­tions on the Humboldt Cannabis Reform Initiative.

• The board will meet in closed session to discuss existing litigation.

Rio Dell City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.

• The council will consider amendments to an agreement with Humboldt Waste Management Authority.
