ROME POWDER DIVISION MT
MSRP: $460 Sizes: 140, 153, 157
The Powder Division MT is a unique rig. Upon first glance its low-entry nose and tail make it apparent where its priorities lie. This board is made for pow. With a massive nose hallmarked by lifted contact points—Rome calls this 3D Camber—and a short moontail, the plane is the name of the MT’s game. A directional profile puts camber in the rear that blends to subtle rocker in the nose. Paired with taper in the teens and a waist in the mid 26-centimeter range, float is no issue for the Powder Division, even in a length shorter than you may typically ride. This uncommon buoyancy in a small package makes it a choice ride in the trees, on small pockets of tranny, and anywhere maximum maneuverability is desired. Its profile handles steeps with confidence but glides through flat sections with ease. For a board with an aesthetic that stands out, it is versatile in a freeride sense. With a single carbon rod inlayed, the board is lively but retains torsional flex, and an insert pattern that can be slammed to the back allows this deck to be as directional as it gets.
