Av­er­age tem­per­a­tures re­flect those of a city cen­trally lo­cated in the re­gion. Tem­per­a­tures at the coast are of­ten 5 or more de­grees cooler than in­land tem­per­a­tures be­cause of coastal breezes and fog, and far­ther in­land, tem­per­a­tures are of­ten sig­nif­i­cantly warmer than cen­tral lo­ca­tions at the same el­e­va­tion.
