1964 | Birth control pills are being supplied by the State Public Assistance Department to some Tri-City women. The pills are now being used by about 300 women a month in the state at a cost to the state of slightly more than $1,000 a month. About 14,000 women in Washington receive aid for dependent children. No records are kept by the Tri-City department on how many women are receiving the medication.
