1964 | Birth con­trol pills are be­ing supplied by the State Pub­lic As­sis­tance Depart­ment to some Tri-City women. The pills are now be­ing used by about 300 women a month in the state at a cost to the state of slightly more than $1,000 a month. About 14,000 women in Wash­ing­ton re­ceive aid for de­pen­dent chil­dren. No records are kept by the Tri-City depart­ment on how many women are re­ceiv­ing the med­i­ca­tion.
