JOSEPH OMER ROGER CYR
Joseph Omer Roger Cyr, 90 a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend has left this earth peacefully in his home on October 29, 2018. Joseph was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on February 21 1930, the third child of Joseph Cyr and Eva Yvonne Grenier. He was a journeyman electrician and caring family man in Kennewick, Washington and a member of St Joseph’s Church in Kennewick, Washington.
He met and married the love of his life Pauline E Campbell in Waterbury, Connecticut. They married on December 19, 1950. Pauline and Joseph had 3 children Patty, Roger and Stephen while living in Wolcott, Connecticut and then the family moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1978. After Joseph retired, he enjoyed spending time with their friends at the Spudnut in Richland and at IHOP in Kennewick and with their children and the grandson’s they adore Joseph, Stephen and Justin.
Joseph was the heart of his family and will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Joseph loved cooking in his kitchen and watching football with his family. He loved fixing things around the house. Playing cards any time, he could find a willing partner, double solitaire with 2 decks his game of choice and watching history shows on tv. He also loved stopping at IHOP for coffee and his favorite breakfast. Most of all Joseph loved the time he spent with his family.
Joseph is survived by his sister Irene Schmidt in Wolcott Connecticut, Pauline and Joseph’s children, daughter Patricia Cyr in Kennewick Washington, sons Roger Cyr in Kennewick Washington and Stephen Cyr in St Helen’s Oregon. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Joseph and Irene Cyr currently in the US Navy, Stephen Cyr and Justin and Paige Cyr all living in Oregon. He is also survived by nieces Cindy Morse of Broad Brook, Connecticut and Cathy Daly of Palmetto Florida and nephew Samuel Campbell of Oakville, Connecticut. Nieces and nephews Robert Cyr, Kevin Cyr, David Cyr, Dorothy Cyr, Debra Cyr, Beverley Schmidt and Jeffery Schmidt all in Connecticut. Joseph is preceded in death by his brothers Maurice, Ernie and Alfred Cyr.
A special thanks to the staff at the Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick. Your visits in Joseph’s final days brought much appreciated comfort.
