Rod­ney Dean Somers passed away at his home on November 6th 2018 at the age of 63 years. He was born on Jan­uary 3rd 1955 in Kennewick Wash­ing­ton to the late Eve­lyn Ras­mussen and Her­ald Somers.

Rod was a pro­fes­sional fire­fighter for the City of Kennewick from

1980 to

2013. He served as a fire­fighter para­medic, re­tired as the EMS of­fi­cer, and was awarded the Of­fi­cer of the Year in 2003.

Rod en­joyed read­ing, lis­ten­ing to mu­sic, and was a

g , mas­ter gar­dener and movie of­fe­cianado. His kind, gen­er­ous, and lov­ing heart showed through his ac­tions with his en­tire fam­ily and friends.

He is sur­vived by his wife, Mari­bel Somers; Daugh­ters, Hil­lary Somers (Matt Jonas) and Claire Somers; Stepchil­dren, Ja­cob Bor­rego, Kristy Os­o­rio (Gabriel Os­o­rio), An­nie Wil­liams (Dustin Wil­liams), and Miguel Bar­raza (Kristina McKay); Grand­chil­dren, Veron­ica, Juan, Har­mony, Is­abel, Mima, Chris­tian, Lo­gan, Willy, and Nixon Rod­ney; Broth­ers and Sis­ter, Betty Cannedy, Den­nis Somers, Ron­ald Somers, and Bruce Somers. In­clud­ing his ex­ten­sive sec­ond fam­ily of the Kennewick fire depart­ment.
