Student expelled after threat at River View High

Tri-City Herald - - Local News - — SARA SCHILLING

A student at River View High School in Finley has been expelled after allegedly making a threat.

The expulsion will remain in place while authorities investigate, Superintendent Lance Hahn said.

The threat was made off-campus Thursday night and was reported to the Benton County Sher- iff’s Office by the parents of one of the student’s classmates, Hahn said, adding that the sheriff’s office responded quickly.

Even though the student was expelled and wasn’t on campus Friday, the sheriff’s office still had extra deputies on hand and the school went into noncritical lockdown as classes started, just as an extra precaution, Hahn said.

The school district disclosed the threat in a Facebook post Thursday night.
