Tri-City Herald - - Local News -

A 35-year-old man picked the wrong car to go off-roading in when he tried to flee from police.

Someone got suspicious and called officers when they saw Anthony Schaff sitting for a while in a banged up car outside of a construction site, said Officer Zach Moore.

When officers showed up at the site near the intersection of 36th Avenue and South Cascade Street, Schaff sped away into a muddy vacant lot. But he didn’t make it far before getting stuck, Kennewick police said.

He stayed in the car for another five minutes before finally surrendering.

He was booked into the Benton County jail for obstructing, trying to elude police and trespassing.
