Saleen is best known for its lineup of Ford Mustang variants and bespoke supercars, but the company has been in the truck and SUV game for more than two decades as well. Its latest machine, the Sportruck XR, applies the company’s penchant for performance to dirt roads instead of dragstrips.
“Continually adding to our lineup of performance vehicles is paramount to Saleen Automotive,” says Saleen CEO Steve Saleen. “We are introducing an off-road truck to our highperformance vehicle lineup with the Sportruck XR.”
The Sportruck XR joins the on-road–biased Sportruck, borrowing the bones of the Ford F-150 XLT with the 301A equipment group. To that chassis, Saleen adds custom front and rear bumpers; body-color door and tailgate handles and wheel flares; and a Saleen grille, side steps, tailgate panel, and power hood. In addition to the exterior updates, the model also gets branded embroidery on the seats’ headrests, signature white-faced gauges, branded floor mats, and a dash plaque with the truck’s serialized Saleen VIN.
