Soon­ers win big at home; OSU, ORU come up short

The Ok­la­homa bats heated up early and stayed hot as the Soon­ers routed Texas South­ern 12-0 on Tues­day night in Nor­man.

OU (11-7) put up four runs in the sec­ond in­ning on three hits and an er­ror. Kyle Men­den­hall had the big hit with a two-run triple, but Cade Cavalli fol­lowed with an RBI ground­out and Cade Har­ris later had an RBI dou­ble.

The Soon­ers scored three more in the third in­ning, in­clud­ing a solo home run by Steele Walker and an RBI dou­ble by Brylie Ware.

Lane Ram­sey got his first ca­reer win, al­low­ing one hit and strik­ing out four in four score­less in­nings.

The teams play again at 6:30 p.m. Wed­nes­day at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
