OU: Murray's focus on football — for now
This week, his agent Scott Boras told the San Francisco Chronicle that Murray has “every intention of fulfilling his agreement with the A's, and he's grateful he has had the chance to pursue his college goals. He will be in spring training with the A's.”
Said Murray: “I have no comment. I'm just worried about playing football right now. But yes, as of right now, I mean, my future's already kind of decided as of right now.”
Murray said he's dreamed about winning the Heisman Trophy. On Saturday, he'll find out if that will come true.
“I always knew once I got my chance here that I felt like I could do pretty special things with coach (Lincoln) Riley and the athletes we have on offense, O-line, the best in the country, running backs year in and year out, and then receivers, obviously we've got receivers,” Murray said. “So yeah, I'm confident in myself, I've got great people around me, great family, great support system. And at the same time, it's not easy to go out and (do what we do) every Saturday. It's not easy. It takes a lot of work, it takes a lot of attention to detail and sacrifice. And with all that being said, I definitely expected to be here.
“I've been playing this game my whole life. I've been pretty good at it. And I think if you're not confident in yourself, then nobody else is gonna be confident in yourself.”
