Lu­cas Oil Chili Bowl Na­tion­als: The Lu­cas Oil Chili Bowl Na­tion­als re­turns this week to the River Spirit Expo at Expo Square. The an­nual com­pe­ti­tion for midget sprint car rac­ing at­tracts more than 200 tal­ented driv­ers from around the world. Five qual­i­fy­ing nights lead up to the cham­pi­onship com­pe­ti­tion Satur­day. See cars zoom around the clay oval track and per­form stunts. ”Beauty and the Beast”: Theatre Tulsa will present a new pro­duc­tion of “Beauty and the Beast,” the mag­i­cal story about a cold-blooded prince who has been mag­i­cally trans­formed into an un­sightly crea­ture as pun­ish­ment for his self­ish ways. To re­vert into his true hu­man form, the Beast must first learn to love a young woman whom he has im­pris­oned in his en­chanted cas­tle be­fore it is too late. Me­tal­lica: Me­tal­lica will re­turn to Tulsa for the first time in 10 years to help the BOK Cen­ter cel­e­brate its 10th an­niver­sary. The heavy metal band formed in 1981 and has since pro­duced 10 stu­dio al­bums. Me­tal­lica has won mul­ti­ple Gram­mys with hits such as “Stone Cold Crazy,” “The Call of Ctulu” and “One.” The group is set to per­form at 7:30 p.m. Fri­day at the BOK Cen­ter.
