Golden Eagles win at South Dakota
Obanor leads ORU with 24 points and 14 rebounds
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Oral Roberts picked up its first road victory of the calendar year with an 86-72 victory at South Dakota on Sunday.
Kevin Obanor led the Golden Eagles with 24 points and 14 rebounds inside Sanford Sports Center.
“We were able to attack the paint, and that worked well for us,” said ORU coach Paul Mills, whose team last won on the road at Omaha on Dec. 30.
After leading 44-39 at halftime, the Golden Eagles throttled South Dakota (9-15, 3-8 Summit League) in the final 20 minutes and led by as many as 19 with 4:26 left.
Sam Kearns had 17 points for ORU, and Kaelen Malone and Emir Ahmedic added 11 points apiece off the bench for the Golden Eagles (10-17, 6-6).
