Obanor leads ORU with 24 points and 14 re­bounds

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Oral Roberts picked up its first road vic­tory of the cal­en­dar year with an 86-72 vic­tory at South Dakota on Sun­day.

Kevin Obanor led the Golden Ea­gles with 24 points and 14 re­bounds in­side Sanford Sports Cen­ter.

“We were able to at­tack the paint, and that worked well for us,” said ORU coach Paul Mills, whose team last won on the road at Omaha on Dec. 30.

Af­ter lead­ing 44-39 at half­time, the Golden Ea­gles throt­tled South Dakota (9-15, 3-8 Sum­mit League) in the fi­nal 20 min­utes and led by as many as 19 with 4:26 left.

Sam Kearns had 17 points for ORU, and Kae­len Malone and Emir Ahmedic added 11 points apiece off the bench for the Golden Ea­gles (10-17, 6-6).
