Sydney Springfield's two-run home run capped a seventh-inning rally as Oklahoma State stunned Kentucky 8-7 on Sunday at the Houston Invitational in Houston, Texas.
The Cowgirls scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for the win.
“I went up to bat and knew that I had to do that for the team,” Springfield said of her walk-off effort. “I gave up a run that I take responsibility for and I just knew I had to do that. I just saw the pitch and hit it. Nothing else went through my mind.
“This was such a great win and I'm so happy to be a part of this team and I think we can really build off of this weekend.”
It was Springfield's second homer of the game. Her two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth made the game 6-4, keeping OSU within striking distance.

Making her first start as a Sooner, Shannon Saile tossed a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts.
Caleigh Clifton got OU on the board first, scoring on an Aztec error in the bottom of the first. Grace Green then hit a grounder to shortstop to give Sydney Romero the
